If you need to discreetly and securely move a large amount of cash, transporting it yourself just won’t cut it. Large amounts of money are heavy, for a start, and can attract unwanted attention. There are some tasks that ordinary vehicles just aren’t equipped for, and the transit of cash is one of them. That’s not an insurmountable problem, however. There are fleets of armoured trucks that can securely transport your cash and goods for you, with inches of steel and trained professionals there for your cash’s protection.
Some CIT companies will even collect your cash at predetermined times and locations at regular intervals, allowing you to make regular cash deposits without having to do so in person. They’ll even store your valuables in a secure vault for you if need be to guarantee a rapid deposit into your account the next day, or, depending on the time of pick up, perform a same-day delivery. Why would you bother taking on the stress and strain of transporting or depositing your cash or valuables yourself when you can let security professionals handle the situation?
Security Vehicles
The security business is competitive, and there are multiple means of transporting your cash from one place to another. While you might have seen marked secure vehicles while out and about, this kind of self-branding is less than ideal for cash transport. You want to have a fleet of unmarked vehicles at your disposal so your cash in transit won’t attract any attention from greedy opportunists. Unmarked vehicles also display a level of humility on the part of the transit company, which, by refraining from branding its vehicles, is putting its customers’ needs ahead of its own. A lack of distinctive markings, however, is just the first step in your cash’s secure transport.
For example, each vehicle should be fitted with a safe in which to keep the cash, as well as a fire extinguisher to put out any fires or help respond to any immediate danger to your precious cargo. Similarly, each vehicle should be fitted with a tracking device so you can monitor its movements across the transit route, and certain routes and vehicles even come with real-time CCTV monitoring, so you can keep an eye on your cash throughout the transit process. Of course, when it comes to the paperwork, you’ll want to ensure that the CIT company you choose to work with has all the appropriate insurance and licensing organised beforehand.
Staff Training
Apart from the van itself, the critical step to maintaining the safety of your cash while it’s being transported is well-trained, licenced, professional staff. Staff training in any security related workplace must be continual and require regular updating of the staff’s security skills, with strict oversight from management and a rigorous selection and training process for any new staff coming through the company. Security professionals are in a demanding, physical role every day, so you want the absolute best that you can get when it comes to the transport of your cash or other valuables.
