When it comes to handling and managing mass waste, hiring a skip grants homeowners, commercial property owners, and site managers an efficient solution – one which handles the disposal of different materials and items on your behalf.
With our skip hire in Essex covering all corners of the county, from town and city centres to the rural landscapes, farms and more, here at Red Skip Hire we’ve seen – and heard – it all. This is why we’ve created this basic guide to skip hire, answering some of the most commonly asked questions we hear, and sharing the key benefits to skip hire alongside the things you need to know.
How Large Are Your Skips And How Long Can I Keep One?
We offer a range of different skips for different site sizes and projects, from smaller skips for household waste and spring cleaning to our larger 14 or 16-yard skips which are suitable for renovation and construction project work.
When you get in touch to discuss skip hire, we will ask questions to help identify the best-sized skip for you – and will also ask questions as to the site and location. This enables us to inform you of how long you will be able to keep the skip – with private property and land offering much more versatility than public spaces, which can only hold a skip for up to two weeks.
How Much Stuff Can I Fit In My Skip?
The size of the skip that you hire will impact how much stuff you can fit into it – however, it’s incredibly important to note that skips are not designed to be overloaded with waste. Rather, the waste in the skip should not rise higher than the edge of the skip as this makes removal unsafe for our team and can lead to fines being issued to you.
What Happens To The Items And Materials I Throw Into My Skip?
One of the biggest questions we get from customers and clients relates to the onward journey of everything and anything they put into their skip.
For the most part, everything that can be recycled is recycled effectively from our sorting facility, with our ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ policy ensuring that no waste that comes to Red Skip Hire is funnelled into damaging landfill sites.
You will notice that there are some exceptions to what our skips can take, with electrical components, technology devices, asbestos, tyres, medical waste, and petrol all not able to be disposed of via your skip. This is to ensure that everything that comes to us can be effectively recycled and disposed of safely at our waste transfer facility.
How Do I Hire A Skip?
If you need to hire a skip for your at-home or commercial project and have further questions or are ready to make a booking, then all you need to do is get in touch and provide us with as much information as possible relating to your hire.
We can then give you a timeline for hire, help you to identify the best-sized skip for hire, and send you an accurate quote for skip hire and waste disposal. A convenient solution which is not only easy to access but incredibly environmentally friendly.
