What Well Paid Catering Jobs Are There?

If you are looking for work it is well worth taking a look at the caterer job board. This job board specialises in hospitality, which, in the UK, is still a growing industry. There are literally thousands of hospitality and catering firms across the UK that are looking for staff.

Many of them are looking for waiting and washing up staff, cooks, prep personnel, cleaners and bar staff. Anyone who has a little experience in any of these roles can easily find work, but it is not always well-paid work. In the South East, most employers pay slightly above the minimum wage, but in other parts of the country, pay is lower. However, that does not mean that there are not well paid catering jobs out there.

Management Roles

Anyone, who is a good worker can potentially apply for a management role and earn more money. Every restaurant, bar, or fast food outlet employs a management team, and the vast majority of the people who fill these roles start out working in front of the house or in the kitchen. The same is true of the majority of the regional and head office managers who work for large franchisers or national brands. Virtually all of them have risen through the ranks to fill these very well-paid roles.

Specialist Roles

People with specialist skills are also well paid. A sommelier can easily earn £18,000 per annum and can work their way up to earn between £40 and £60,000.

Pastry chefs command salaries of between £17,000 and £30,000 depending on their experience and the quality of the establishment they work for. Head chefs earn at least £25,000 and some earn as much as £50,000.

Working in Catering Opens Other Doors

Many well paid event managers started their careers working in catering. Many of today’s most successful restaurateurs also started out by working as chefs in other people’s establishments.

Without a doubt, a career in catering can provide you with a good income. All you need to do is open your eyes to the opportunities, set a goal, and work towards it.
